That was a real treat! Studio Glass is absolutely my favourite art form, which isn't surprising as we live in Tacoma. (Dale Chihuly was born here and his childhood home is a few streets away.) I'm a docent at Tacoma's Museum of Glass, and I give tours of the galleries every Friday. We have an astonishing glass blowing programme in our school district "Hilltop Artists." (Two of our schools have large hot shops.) Many of the students in the programme have gone on to develop careers as studio glass artists. Several have appeared on the Netflix series "Blown Away." Alma's work is so beautiful! I hope she will be on the East Kent Artists' Open Houses so that we can see her work in person! I am so happy that the two places that I call home (Whitstable and Tacoma) have such vibrant art communities! Here are some links to my two favourite Studio Glass places! museumofglass.orghilltopartists.org
That’s great you enjoyed the podcast- and thank you for those links too. Hopefully Alma will open her workshop next year, when you are over as part of EKOH and you will see it for yourself!
